Galasha Hamilton is an R&B signer on the Wilson B. Sho' Record label. She signed with Wilson B. Sho' in 1991. She began singing at the age of three. She began her singing career with The Ladies of Love. She sung with them from 1977 to 1979. Galasha left the group because of creative differences. She signed with an independent label call 2:00 Sharp Records. She was on this label from 1986-1988. She recorded on one album on this label, "Trying this Thang Solo". This album did not do well at all. 2:00 Sharp Records was bought out by Wilson B. Sho' Record in 1988. Galasha did not want to sign with Wilson B. Sho' Record. She was tired and frustrated. She no longer wanted to be a recording artist. She was courted by Wilson B. Sho' Record talent scouts for more than six months without any success. They thought she was a good talent and that she would be successful, but she thought otherwise. In 1989, Larence Eller of Configuration invited Galasha to sing on their CD. She agreed after some begging. The song she sung with Configuration was "This Thursday". The song was a smash hit. The song received several awards including "Best Song" and "Best Song By A Group". The song was so popular that people began buying and requesting Galasha's first CD. Wilson B. Sho' Record had to re-release, "Trying this Thing Solo." The CD went gold without any changes being made to the previous recording. Galasha was in demand. Larence convinced Galasha to sign with Wilson B. Sho' Record. She signed with them in 1991. As soon as she signed with Wilson B. Sho' Record, she began touring and traveling. She did not release her first CD on Wilson B. Sho' Record until 1993. This CD was entitled, "Might as Well Try Again." This CD was an even bigger hit than her first CD. Galasha Hamilton is the second most popular artist on the Wilson B. Sho' Record label. She married Larence Eller of Configuration in 2001. |
