About Lamar Holliday

Lamar was born on 7/20/1975 in the city of Vance, Maddocha.

Lamar began to sing at the age of three. He would imitate the singers that his mother, Margaret Holliday, listened on her record player.  His mother got him singing lesson.  His father, John Davis, wanted him to get on a label and begin making money.  His mother and father fell out so badly that they did not speak to each other for a long time.

Lamar kept taking singing lessons and kept practicing. At age 11, he began to sing at talent shows. He won over 20 contests between the ages of 11 and 18.  At the age of 16, he moved to the city of Absanie, Maddocha.  He sung background vocals for Plaxicoe Studios on several recordings for a number of artists on the now defunct Greenvilla Records. He became good friends with an engineer at Plaxicoe Studios by the name of Chris Butman.  A young writer named Adrian Daries was friends with Chris. Chris asked Lamar to record some of Adrian's songs.  The arrangement helped all three young men. Adrian wanted to be a song writer, Chris wanted to be a producer, and Lamar wanted to be a singer.

They produced a CD displaying all three men's talent.  They shopped the CD around to various record companies.  Five companies showed interest in the men: two wanted Lamar, 1 wanted Chris, 1 wanted Adrian, and 1 wanted all three men.  Chris was hired as a producer for Wilson B. Sho' Records. Adrian was hired as a songwriter for WBS as well.  Lamar signed as an artist with WBS.

In 1996, Lamar released his first CD entitled, "I'm Lamar, Hear Me Croon." That's exactly what Lamar was, a new day crooner, as he was called by David Koller of WBS Records. His first CD did well.

Lamar released his second CD, "New Day Crooner," in 1998.  This CD was a huge success.  It featured songs written by: King Brown, Scott Williams, Tony Sindelar, and Phoenix Davis.

Lamar has released more than 5 CDs.  He continues to be a new day crooner.

He wrote and sung "Mama & Daddy" on the CD entitled "Oh Yea!"  The song was instrumental in helping his mother and father reconciling their 17 year riff.
